Progressive, meaning the shift becomes firmer in relation to throttle as it should for. You may notice a more 'progressive' shift feel after a TransGo kit has been installed. The directions on it says to adjust the PR adjustor screw to have almost no threads remaining, which kinda brings me to the first question of leaving some space on the TransGo kit? TransGo SHIFT KIT valve body repair kits are engineered to correct rough shifts and other malfunctions that can reduce transmission longevity and durability. I had also thought about putting it in while I have the trans apart.
#Difference in transgo shift kits install#
Partial install may be done from bottom end on Valve body, however full kit install requires. 3) Something else, or mix and match the Sonnax. NOTE: SK 45RFE and 45RFE-HD2 do not make firm shifts. 2) Transgo 4L60E-HD2 (does not appear to modify servos or boost valve) -or. I also have the Mopar Performance shift improver kit, which contains the servo's, springs and sleeve. Can anyone recommend/compare the following shift kits (or suggest a different manufacturer): 1) Sonnax Performance Pack HP-4L60E-01 (with boost valve), Sonnax 1-2 super hold servo 77911-03K, Sonnax 4th servo 77767K.

Do you think I should just adjust the pressure higher on the (75) VB or continue on with my plan of changing? The (77) VB, the kickdown lever pushes the KD valve in much sooner than the current VB (75) that is in the trans now, which is partially the reason for changing. If I put a 1/8" or so space between the retainer and adjusting screw, it will give me more line pressure, Correct, or should I leave it flush and that be enough pressure?

Now the directions say to put the PR adjust screw flush with the retainer. I want it to loosen my fillings when it shifts. Other questions is if the 400 1&2 reprogramming kit is the right one for my limited street and sometimes track car. Didn't know there was that big of a difference in shift kits. I have a (1977) 727 that I borrowed the VB from and put the transgo kit into it. Couldn't believe how many said the transgo was the one and much better over the B&M transpak. It works ok, but I dont like the way it kicks down and the short hold on first gear. This kit is for 99-04 jeeps with the 4.7 motor.I currently have in my car a 727 (1975yr) that has a Shift technologies, Shift correction kit. Well see how well it all works when out wheelin later this year. First drive impression is it definitely makes a difference in shifts, got rid of the lag I was getting doing 1-2 shifts at all rpm ranges. This resistor tricks the transmission into supplying a little extra pressure (the springs you just changed out are made to work with this). Just finished installing the Transgo A340/AW4 shift improver kit. The final step is to solder or otherwise splice a resistor they include between two wires on the line pressure sensor. put the pan back on, fill with fluid and re-attach the servo connector. Put it back together with the new accumulator plate they provide, slap the valve body back in the trans along with a new filter.

Note that the little circlips go into the groove before the new seal. Replace a couple of seals on the little pistons which easily come out of the bore. Pull the accumulator plate off of the valve body (couple of torx screws) and then replace a couple of springs behind the plate (instructions have a picture which makes it obvious what to do). Undo the connector for the servo on the outside of the trans, then 6 8mm bolts on the valve body itself and it drops right out. COMPLAINT: Long soft 2-3 shift or loses 2-3 hot. 21 Dec 94: Received report of case passage blowout at 13,000 miles. Maybe took me an extra hour with the fluid change. different cases, due to high line, in a period of two weeksafter repair. It does what it advertises (shifts quicker, smoother) was inexpensive and a pretty easy install. I put a transgo shift kit - specifically the HD2 kit in my WJ when I changed the fluid and filter recently.
